Praise God everyone. Welcome to today's teaching that's entitled, Demon Oppression. We read from the book of Matthew 12, verse 22 and I'll read from the English standard version which says, “then a demon oppressed man who was blind and mute, was brought to him and he healed him so that the man spoke and saw”, Hallelujah.

This is Jesus healing someone who was both blind and mute and the Word tells us the reason why this was, was because of demons. You know demons are fallen angels who rebelled against the Lord along with lucifer and were thrown to earth and they affect people in many ways. See, there's a scientific explanation to diseases and other things that happen in this world but also life is very spiritual. There's a spiritual angle to most things are demons and the kingdom of darkness and this can also be called the spirit of infirmity. If we look at the word and today I speak about three ways that the enemy oppresses people; people who love Jesus, people who do not love Jesus, still oppresses them in one way or the other. The difference is, those who love Jesus get victory in the end and they are perceptive to what's happening and ideally they do something about it and the Lord delivers them all, from all these issues.

There are three modes of oppression. Number one is slavery to sin. John 8 34-36 says Jesus replied, "I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave to sin. Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” Hallelujah. So I'm telling you this, if you've perpetually sinned, want to stop but you can’t then you’re a slave to sin. Yes, no one is perfect but the intent and the habit distinguishes those who are enslaved or oppressed by the slavery of sin and what is sin? I'll say what the word says in Galatians 519-21 Paul writes, Paul writes: Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. So if you do such things with reckless abandon, chances are you're being oppressed by the enemy.

Number two, blindness to the truth. What is the truth? Jesus is the way the truth and the life. Second Corinthians 3 16 says “but when one turns to the Lord the veil is removed.” What is a veil? A veil is like a curtain. something that makes you blind. That's from the enemy of course. Veil is kalymma in Greek which means a cover. So metaphorically, something that prevents a thing from being understood for example some people don't understand generational causes. Life is mostly spiritual, the eternal consequences to come and how to live wisely such things. A devil blinds people.

That's a form of oppression and the third one and the last one which I mentioned earlier is the spirit of infirmity. We see what happened to Job. The Lord allowed the enemy to hit Job with diseases and the spirit of infirmities at work.

All these can be resolved through prayer and my work as a servant of God is to heal the sick, drive out demons, preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. So contact us if you have any of these needs.

Be blessed.
